How to wear a foot brace orthosis?

The lower extremity Orthosis Education Committee proposed a unified naming scheme for orthoses, which has been adopted by the International Organization for Standardization. In 1966, it proposed the use purpose of classical orthoses, mainly for the control of patients' abnormal movement pattern and spasm, deformity prevention and correction, and involuntary movement control.

In 1972, the American Academy of Sciences promoted the use of lower extremity orthosis: foot orthosis, ankle foot orthosis, knee orthosis, knee ankle foot orthosis, hip orthosis, hip knee ankle foot orthosis.

The goal of orthopaedic foot support is to promote and compensate the development and training of patients' motor function, prevent the deformation of ankle and foot, and correct the deformed limbs as much as possible.

In the course of daily care, regardless of whether the patient has worn an orthopaedic foot brace before, when receiving a newly customized foot brace, the following principles should be followed in the wearing process:

1, Before wearing foot pads, you should wear a layer of cotton socks that absorb sweat on your feet and keep them clean by changing them frequently.

2, To wear shoes outside the foot pad, it is best to choose flat and non-slip shoes, to better learn to stand and walk.

3. Wearing time for the first day is half an hour in the morning and half an hour in the afternoon.

Add an hour a day after that.

4. It can be increased to full day wearing after about two weeks.

5. In any case, after two hours of continuous wearing, you should take off the orthopaedic foot support and give your feet a rest for 10-20 minutes.

6. After taking off the orthopaedic foot support, the back of the foot should be properly massaged to relieve the skin indentation or poor blood circulation caused by the tight strap.

7. You should often check the orthopaedic foot support to apply the corrective force of the skin is serious pressure red, or skin wear phenomenon.

8. If the skin on the feet is worn, please stop wearing it immediately and wear it after the skin has healed completely and recovered. Colleagues can contact the orthopaedic technician to determine whether modification is needed.

9. New orthopaedic foot support should be reviewed every three months.

Foot ptosis and foot valgus are one of the common abnormal patterns of lower limbs in stroke patients, and the most common foot orthotics are: orthopaedic insoles and insole.

It plays an irreplaceable role in modern rehabilitation, but there are still many deficiencies in the clinical application of modern rehabilitation, such as indications of orthotic wearing, time and osteoporosis, disuse muscular atrophy and muscle weakness, pressure ulcers, etc., which have not been completely solved.

The use of orthotics needs to be further developed.

With the development of technology, I believe that it will be better used in rehabilitation.

USA YOBAND prosthetic innovation technology is shared, focusing on financial and material resources, focusing on and producing its own research and development, giving full play to its unique core competitive advantages, and fully integrating global resources with international peers for the benefit of disabled friends! So when selecting a prosthetic company, the amputee who installs prosthetic limbs must investigate on the spot to determine whether the prosthetic company really has a technical team to make a prosthetic receptor cavity. The qualified prosthetic receptor cavity plays a key role in their own comfortable experience and prosthetic walking gait.
